Project Supervisor

Position Summary
Our client, a leading business in the manufacturing and retailing of steel and related products in Zimbabwe, is seeking a technically skilled and commercially driven Project Supervisor. The role involves driving sales growth, interpreting engineering drawings, preparing quotations, managing client relationships, and ensuring smooth coordination of project-focused sales activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical competence, excellent communication skills, and a disciplined approach to delivering against set targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to acquire and retain clients.
- Conduct cost–benefit and needs analyses for existing and potential customers.
- Interpret structural and engineering drawings and deduce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for quotations.
- Prepare quotations, conduct follow-ups, and convert opportunities into sales.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and forecasts.
- Provide management with timely reports on customer needs, challenges, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Coordinate sales efforts with team members and relevant departments for seamless service delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly to maximize satisfaction.
- Conduct cold-call visits to clients and schedule product demonstrations.
- Plan and participate in events to promote company products and services.
- Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets.
- Monitor competitor pricing and industry trends and produce monthly comparison reports.
- Support marketing initiatives across social media, website, outdoor, and print platforms.
- Recommend re-order quantities based on sales velocity and lead times.
- Ensure sales teams have updated price lists and product information.
- Attend meetings, sales events, and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments.
- Promote company products with professionalism and clear communication.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Draughtsmanship, Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the construction of steel structures.
- Experience in Project Management is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to lead project teams and work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Reliable, confident, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Professional conduct and the ability to communicate at all organisational levels.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
